Gothenburg restaurant with home cooking and French influences
Löfqvist is located in central Gothenburg at Västra Hamngatan 15. We serve lunch daily with the theme of home cooking with ‘finess and love’. We allso have á la carte in the evenings (Wednesday-Saturday). The menu includes both “small & tasty” that are suitable for slipping in for a glass of wine or for a ‘three-course’ for a successful evening with company.
The lunches and á la carte can be booked or come “drop in”. If you want to be sure of a place, are a larger group or will visit us in the evening, we would be grateful if you book in advance… although we always try to make room for spontaneous visits.

There is a good chance that you will like our food. The staff is´áre our heart. The chefs and serving staff are involved in our menu, and we are constantly trying and creating new dishes based on variety and what our guests like.
For example, we do not have the same lunch special two days in a row. Our serving staff are experienced and receive continuous training on which drinks go particularly well with our food. At the same time, they are “in tune” with the market, i.e. what our guests like.
Finally, a few words from the person who lent his surname
We started five years ago, and at that time “Löfqvist” was simply a working name, mainly because I was the one leading the project “restaurant at Arkaden.” Our first premises at Arkaden had previously housed several cafés and restaurants, but none of the businesses had really managed to succeed.
The location was central, large enough to function as a lunch restaurant, and it could be furnished in a warm and welcoming way — so the potential for success was definitely there. Early on, those of us involved realized that the city centre lacked a really good place for traditional home-style cooking.
So what should we call it? In the absence of a better idea, “Löfqvist” sounded solid and traditional — much like the kind of food we wanted to serve — and that’s how Löfqvist & Vi came about. Another dimension of the name is the feeling it conveys: like coming home to Löfqvist’s for a good meal and a pleasant time. That’s exactly the feeling we want all our guests to experience.
It quickly became a success at Arkaden, largely because we have remained consistent in our direction and have focused strongly on quality and service. After five years in Arkaden we took the next step and moved the restaurant to Västra Hamngatan 15.
Naturally, I hope that all our wonderful guests from Arkaden, as well as many new ones, will find their way to our restaurant.
